poetry n. The art or work of a poet.

A word inexplicibly forbidden in my childhood (see pancake).  "The proper term is 'verse'," instructed my late mother.

Thing is, I write the stuff all the time.  Nobody would call it "art" nor me a "poet."  And I don't call it "work."  So what I write does not qualify as poetry.  Examples abound, including Paranormal Limericks, a series inspired by dyskeptia.
