choenberg’ s Piano Piece, op. 33a, Krenek’s Twelve Variations in Three Movements, op. 79, and Babbitt’s Canonical Form apply "dodecaphony" -- the twelve-tone technique, called "tone rows," as the main theme of the composition -- like, its "melody" -- wherein one and only one instance of each note in the chromatic scale is permitted.
